HPW Wrestlers On MTV
We'd like to congratulate Hybrid Pro Wrestling competitors Josh Abercrombie and Jimmy Jacobs (as well as one of our guests from the January 20th show, Arik Cannon), who were all part of MTV's Wrestling Society X, which debuted Tuesday, January 30th, 2007 at 10:30PM EST. These excellent athletes were recognized for their hard work and talent by the WSX scouts, and they were chosen for the inaugural season of this wrestling series. Frankie The Face Cooling His Temper?
In HPW, Frankie The Face has earned a reputation as a ticked-off time bomb. After making it to the finals of the initial HPW Championship Tournament, he fell to CJ Otis, and despite a great showing at Phase: One, he was not able to procure the title.
After the loss, Frankie took time to himself to collect his thoughts. It was rumored that he even went so far as to seek therapy for his anger! Whatever the situation, Frankie started to relax a bit, and it has led him to success. However, one loss came at the hands of the "Old Timer" Jeff King, at Amplified. Frankie The Face is looking to avenge that loss, and along the way, make amends with those whose moods he has ruined along the way.
Harker Dirge Takes A Bite Out Of Magnum Conroy
No matter how hard they have hit him, no one in HPW has been able to take Magnum Conroy off his feet.
That is, until "The Bloody" Harker Dirge sunk his teeth into the challenge.
While Harker got himself disqualified by using a blatant low blow, he has left his mark on Magnum's psyche. Their clash in Coloma saw Harker hack away at Magnum and the bloody one actually took Magnum to the mat with a devastating overhead suplex! Harker has had creepy words for Magnum that have yet to be seen, but that along with another big time fight will be in store soon for these two, as well as the fans of HPW.
Old Timer Furious
The first time around, he was tossed over the top rope to the floor. A disqualification, he declared. The second time around, in Coloma, he was compacted with a vicious piledriver by HPW Champion, CJ Otis. Still, back in his day, people were built tough, and the "Old Timer" Jeff King continued the bout, almost putting down the champion with his dreaded Bear Hug. While Otis was able to take King down with a northern lights suplex to get the victory, King once again clamped on the Bear Hug while being pinned just to prove to Otis that he could grasp victory whenever he wanted it.
King will have to wait a bit before his next title shot, but in the meantime, he'll be looking to run more rookies out of the business, and finish his issue with Frankie The Face.
